VICTOR is the best!

VICTOR is not even one year old yet and has already earned its first gold medal: VICTOR by Hasselblad, the Hasselblad magazine from the Hamburg publishing house Center of Service, was honoured as the best print product in the Magazines category at the Sappi International Printers of the Year Award 2007 in Boston.

The awards from Sappi, the world’s leading producer of coated fine paper, are the most sought-after honours within the industry. Print products from nine categories are appraised by an international commission of experts on the basis of overall impression, level of difficulty and technical achievement. The jurors considered the brilliant imagery and outstanding printing technology of VICTOR by Hasselblad to be deserving of gold: out of more than 6000 entries worldwide, they selected VICTOR as the number one in the Magazines category. The glittering awards ceremony took place at Boston’s J F Kennedy Museum on Friday, 12th October 2007.

“This result is the sum of outstanding individual achievements”, said a delighted Stephan Bittner, owner of the Hamburg-based publishing house Center of Service GmbH. “We have been able to recruit the best photographers in the world for VICTOR, we implement spectacular ideas for imagery and design, we have a highly committed editorial team and, last but by no means least, we have a top-class printer in our partner Druck- und Medienhaus in Essen, Germany. Now it can be seen that our aspiration to achieve the finest possible quality down to the very last detail really has culminated in success. We wanted to set new standards – and we have quite obviously succeeded.”
